  • In 1986, noticing the growing popularity of surf and street fashion in California, 20 year old Uni student, Mossimo Gianulli, started making shorts for beach volleyball and peddling them up and down the shore. Gaining notoriety for its humble, grassroots start, Mossimo's iconic 'M' quickly became the symbol of Youth culture in Cali, and beyond
  • Mossimo Giannulli drops out of the University of Southern California and borrows $100,000 from his father to finance his dream. Armed with an entrepreneurial strategy based on marketing, Giannulli begins making 'active-wear', selling to local surf shops.
  • By the end of his first year, Giannulli had grossed $1 million and generated enough sales to pay back his father.
  • In February 1996, Mossimo became publically listed on the New York stock exchange. The stock debuted at $18 a share, and sky-rocketed to $50 a share by June 1996.
  • Always expanding, Mossimo launches in Australia, Japan, Mexico, Canada and Europe.
  • Mossimo celebrates 'making clothes my friends and I liked' all across the world.
